Prof. Zhu visited the Department of Geography at University of Wisconsin-Madison and gave a seminar talk

On April 10, 2026, Prof. Di Zhu visited the Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he delivered a seminar talk hosted by the Geospatial Data Science Lab as an invited speaker.

The seminar was held on a Friday afternoon at Science Hall, one of the university’s historic academic buildings. Di's talk is about “Spatial Networks and AI for Social Sensing,” introducing recent advances in spatial network modeling and GeoAI, with a focus on understanding human–environment interactions in cities.

The seminar attracted faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, and researchers from across the University of Wisconsin–Madison, fostering active discussion and engagement. The visit also offered a chance to connect with colleagues and strengthen academic ties between the two institutions.

Notably, the seminar took place in the historic Science Hall (built in 1887), right before its scheduled renovation in June 2026, marking a meaningful moment to share research on space and networks within a building that has long been part of the history.
